Building social capital
The Cape Town Clothing Guild Annual report for the year ending June 2025 has just come out and here are some highlights:
Last year The CTCG distributed 25,225 items of NEW clothing, with the emphasis on new to nurture self-respect.
This went to 37 different charities, all of which are vetted.
It is a 100% volunteer organisation, meaning there are no staff costs and every cent raised goes to the beneficiaries.
It is a resilient organisation, having started in 1889 and is supported by hundreds of members.
The CTCG is one of the charities Building Capital Partners supports through donating coaching fees. Last year was just the start, but there was a meaningful impact. Thank you to our clients who supported this initiative.
My wife is the Chairperson, so no pay means no conflict of interest - it is rather about alignment on impact.
